I’m crazy about hand-stamped business logos. They’re the perfect way to be both professional and personal at the same time. I searched high and low for a wooden stamp that combined my signature and text for my web address and city. And I’m so pleased with the result. You’ll see this logo on the back of all my paper products and probably anywhere else that I can put it.
I’m noticing hand-stamped logos being used by other businesses, and I hope to see more handcrafters use them to create memorable branding on wonderful products.
If you’re looking for a stamp, I found this beautiful, very affordable stamp at www.rubberstampchamp.com. The size assortments and options are enormous!
Today, I’d rather be at home in my black Levi’s with a paint brush in my hand perfecting my splatter technique. It’s definitely improving!
I cannot believe we’re almost to mid-February and I haven’t posted anything of substance. No updates, nothing. It hasn’t been for lack of desire. In fact, I may have too many thoughts but nothing concrete enough to sit down and share.
I’ve been spending a lot of time with my two gray Moleskin notebooks capturing thoughts, inspiration, lessons and business advice for the last few months. I needed time to think about the direction I’m taking and plan accordingly. It’s so important to protect oneself from the pressure of attempting the same things that are successful for someone else. Inactivity is a version of negative space.
As I’ve spent time executing tasks for my paper goods/art collection, I’ve realized my absolute love for negative space in my style. Simplicity and negative space. Whenever I stray too far from either, I end up lost and my work feels inauthentic to me.
Negative spaces in creativity are really points of rest and moments of exhale as we travel onward to higher levels, deeper depths and new realms. Inactivity isn’t negative. Neither is negative space.
